OIL BURN

whenever i'll see a 45million oil and attack the acct. i always get the oil burn issue, is this a SELL-OFF protection scheme of OF?

my attacks are valid no setting up of accts. to attack :(

too many soldiers die and it hinders my growth

any suggestions on how i can prevent this from happening again?

scale down ur offense... which is insanely stupid, or find farms with slightly better def

i didnt start a new thread, and found this one, but it doesnt answer my question, i found a guy with 155 million oil, he had 114 of the best defense, i had 130 of the best attack, and i oil burned???

what health were his weapons at?.. tht about all I can think of... he had damaged weps and got 65% of DA on tht draw

i had 130 best attack at the time, hes ranked better than me by 100 or so

but you're attack is ranked at 130 best in the game, or you have 130 of the best attacking weapons

So oil burn happens when someone with a much higher SA attacks someone with a riddiculously low defense?

And does the amount of oil they have make any difference?

actually I think it has to do with total troop count. Not offense/defense. If that were the case, folks that have zero def and get hit by someone with say 30-50 mill strike, should get oil burn constantly, and thats not the case.

I think it definetley has to do with how much oil they have... I will attack someone with a ridiculously low def and not get oil burn... I attack them the next day when they have, say, 60 mill and I get oilburn. I think it is a combo of def and amount of oil

I've only encountered it once, a while ago, and they had a bunch of oil.

I thought the thing that keeps large armies from attacking small ones was UN intervention. Is that done by armies?

no it depends on score

so some one with say a 1 mil score can hit someone with a score 10%of the 1mil score

this is how i am pretty sure it works,

it has to do with the amount of oil, and it doesnt always happen, but the greater the amount of oil(i guess in ratio with their storage amount), the higher the chance of a burn.

so if someone has 640k oil but has storage 640k(that means storage is maxed) chances of burn are very likely, but if person has 640k oil, and millions of storage, then the chance of a burn is very very unlikely

nope, i think everyday, theres an auto thing that raises the oil amount to burn.
lol

1st day of round, if u steal sum1 with 500k+ it burns.
2nd day, 759k
3rd, 1.5m
10th, 25m
etc.

I like the percentage idea better. Because otherwise, sell offs could occur with some fairly lower level people, and it wouldn't be a problem.

guys, it has to do with the amount of oil they have and the amount of storage. if amount of oil is close to max storage then it burns. DONE!

We are testing a new "oil burn" feature to reduce people "selling off" accounts to other players. Normally, players should not notice a difference. However, if you attack a player with an obscene amount of oil built up, some of the oil may burn and explode killing some players on both sides. Depending on the severity of the burn, 1/3rd or 2/3rd of the oil may burn and become useless. Please send any feedback to funkywizard in game.

I think it's a game bug or some fckd up formulas...no matter who I atack I always get at least 2-3 oil burns /2-3 hours.....I atack guys on the same page as me with similar score and similar population,I atack guys with bigger score and higher population and of course big defence potential ans still I get oil burn ...and I loose like 600-1k men ...It happens to me too often and it;s really upseting....maybe you sholdn't atack at all?

I would like to add that the defender weapons were almost intact (2599 /2560) he/she also had trained defence men and mercenaries.....so what the hell it's wrong?
Maybe the admins should take out atack turns...so everyone il just bank oil

oil burn doesn't have to do with how powerful they are compared to you. it has to do with their amount of oil. when the power issue comes into play it doesn't even let you attack, it says that the UN stops you because they are too weak, or your soldiers are too afraid to attack because they are too powerful

(at least i think based on their announcement when they first made oil burn)

I just wanted to make a comment about Oilburn: I'm pretty sure army size has something to do with it. I was attacked at the end, as most people were, but after I trained all of my army to spies, I was attacked, and the attacker lost guys to Oilburn, when I barely had any oil. I also noticed it when I was attacking Irish after he trained his guys. I lost around 50 guys and got around 500k oil, and around 750k was burned.
