I think it takes a "special" kind of person to get into that Dance Video Game stuff....

Thankfully, I'm not that "special".

Ouch, I'm actually kind of offended by that.

No, it is not beloved by all, but I don't believe those who like the game have to be deemed "special".

I believe that it is a great way for videogamers who are characterised as lazy couch potatoes to beat the stereotype and lose the baby fat that they may have been carrying for a while. I believe that Dance Dance Revolution is a good way to be exposed to more than just Hip Hop, Metal, Alternative and Rap music. Furthermore, I believe it is a great game and has been proven such by the hoards of fans out there and the amount of money konami has been receiving due to the hoards of fans.

Just because you're not a fan of the game, doesn't mean you should characterize the players of the game as "special".

Videogamers have a bad rap as it is with puritans believing that games like Vice City and such to be altering the minds of youth today to go commit gun crimes, why would you want to add more derogatory spins on the culture that you seem to be enjoying?

... you should've learnt something from Bambi, and if you haven't seen it. Go relive some childhood.

All I said was "special" I didn't say "special-ed" or anything like that. Just "special". Just like it takes a "special" kind of person to rack up thousands of hours in WOW or FF or some other RPG type game. Maybe its a younger kid type thing. I don't know of anyone that "plays" that. Maybe it's just not big in the St. Louis Metro Area. Most Malls around here, have had their dance game thingie removed for a nice arcade machine.

If you really believe that a videogame "made some kid shoot, kill, or rob someone" you need your head examined. Maybe if the parents were actually parenting their kids, rather than letting video games do it for them, we wouldn't have to worry about that crapola. Just a bunch of bull that weak minded people pull outta their ass, to try to blackmail large companies into lower profits. If your kid can't figure out the difference in playing a video game & real life, it's time to chuck that game system out, and start taking care of your kids.

I play plenty of FPS games, RPG games, and whatnot else. I know the difference from when I'm playing a game vs. when I'm holding a real gun in my hands.

I guess you will have to refresh my memory, I don't think I've seen that movie in 20+ years...

First things first, I do not, and refuse to believe that a videogame motivates the youth of today to go and cause gun crimes -- but that is what the media is focusing on these days. There are no portrayals of intellegent videogamers. Just wiggers who cannot form complete sentences and like Grand Theft Auto. It's almost depressing. Anyhow, what I was saying was that gamers alike should be supporting eachother rather than claiming one is "special" due to their preference of gaming.

Also, the terminology of "special" was translated wrong on my part because when it hits my ears, it has more recently been associated with the special-ed influence.

I'm also Canadian, so there are many things that switch meanings when they cross the boarder.

Btw, the Bambi reference was something along the lines of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"

In this case I just needed a little bit of clarification, so, thank you for that.

^_^;; and sorry for the mix up.
