Would you consider making a random change every now and then to the page layout ?
Just a thought.. cos it seems fairly exploitable
It worries me when you say things like that...

it is fairly exploitable. and changing the page layout wouldnt help because you could always just request urls with form data in get style instead of post style instead of clicking on things if you wanted to. I'm currently working on a statistical gathering system, which will include ways of checking for bot activity, and may put in captchas every once in a while if it suspects you of being a bot.

The captchas every once in a while might be a good idea. I've played another game (not a KoC clone, but text-browser based) where about every 20th action gave a captcha. I could live with that.

yah. i think the rate at which you get captchas would depend upon how often you view pages. if you're using oilfight 12 + hours / day, you might get captchas every 10th page. if you browse it at human speed for a few hours a day, maybe every 50th page.
